UPDATE: Body found in St George

THE BODY OF A 48-year old man was found in a bushy area this afternoon in Todds Land, St George.

While police have not yet released the man’s name, reports are that he was found with a chop to his head.

He is said to be a resident of St John.

As news of the man’s death spread, several shocked onlookers gathered at the scene.

According to police public relations officer acting Inspector Roland Cobbler, they received reports that a man’s fully clothed body was found lying face down in the bushy area around 6 p.m.

Police quickly responded and cordoned off the area.

One woman, who asked not to be identified, said she was not accustomed to seeing the man in the area.

Police investigations are continuing into the matter. (RB)
