THOUGH 1ST AVENUE, Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael residents are pleased to have a newly paved road, they want the contractor responsible for the project to correct some problem areas.

The roadworks were supposed to have been completed in May, but residents want pavements and driveways repaired and depressed areas where water settles to be graded.

Residents said previously the water never settled on the road, but with no drains or gutters, they were now jumping over puddles of water. Additionally, sections of the road are wider than other sections.

Yesterday, when a team from the Ministry of Transport and Works, led by Deputy Chief Technical Officer Phillip Tudor, visited the area, Virginia Bascombe said when the workers came to fix the road they dug up the paved driveway to her mother’s house as well as pavement along their outer wall, but it was not replaced.  (LK)
