Top Bajan finisher heads to Trinidad
THERE’S NOW even added incentive to win the Massy United Insurance Derby.
The highest-placed Bajan horse at the last leg of the Triple Crown will be given a spot to race at Santa Rosa Park after Massy United Insurance announced their title sponsorship of next month’s Trinidad Derby.
Director of business development, strategy and marketing Michael “Mickey” Armstrong made the announcement during yesterday’s post-position draw for the 78th running of the Derby.
“We had one [Trinidad horse here] two years ago and now we have two coming in and what we would like to see is some Barbados horses participate in the Trinidad Derby,” said Armstrong. (JM)
