Banks reluctant to talk security

COMMERCIAL BANKS SAY they are taking customer security seriously.

However, in the wake of last week’s shooting death of a customer using a Royal Bank of Canada automatic teller machine (ATM), banks are not saying if, when or how they will enhance ATM security.

When contacted commercial banks were generally reluctant to discuss security matters.

Responding to questions from the SUNDAY SUN, Republic Bank Barbados did not say if there were efforts to increase security measures at its ATMs in a general way or as a result of the death of RBC customer Colleen Payne. (SC)
