New credit bureau in the works

ANOTHER CREDIT BUREAU could soon be in town.

And the Barbados Bankers’ Association believes such an institution could help to strengthen the financial sector.

During a town hall meeting at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Tuesday night, interested people were given the opportunity to learn more about the proposed private credit bureau.

Chief executive officer and managing director of Republic Bank Ian De Souza explained that while the new entity would be owned by foreign investors, Barbados would still benefit greatly from its presence. (RB)
