A PROMISE OF a meeting of the Social Partnership by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart might not be enough to avert industrial action.

While speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, Stuart said he was willing to meet with the labour movement and the private sector “in full glare of the public” to engage in dialogue.

However, when asked directly yesterday whether further industrial action was still a possibility, president of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), Akanni McDowall, told the DAILY NATION “nothing is off the table”.

McDowall noted that the trade unions were still holding meetings to discuss the way forward. (RB)
