Harris is new CFU deputy
RANDY HARRIS IS the new first vice-president of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).
The president of the Barbados Football Association (BFA) defeated Rignaal Francisca of Curacao by 18 votes to eight at the union’s annual general meeting in St Kitts yesterday.
Harris will immediately assume the role of acting president of the CFU, after current president Gordon Derrick opted to recuse himself from the position, pending the outcome of an ongoing matter.
In an interview with SUNSPORT after the announcement, Harris noted that his first order of business would be to rebuild the unity within the rank and file of the CFU. (RA)
