IT’S TWO IN A ROW for young festival designer Kevin Small as his Fifth Element band reigned supreme yesterday at the National Stadium for Junior Kadooment.

His presentation Candy Land took the top prize of Best Junior band followed by Kites at the Garrison Savannah from veteran designer Gwyneth Squires and Trevor Nicholls Young Spirits Community band with their presentation Colour Me Crop-Over.

It all came on the day that more than 2000 young masqueraders took over the National Stadium yesterday during Junior Kadooment and Fair.

Though the numbers for the MQI and Barbados Lumber Company sponsored event were fewer in comparison to previous years, thousands of people still showed up to lend their support to the youngsters.

The parading began from around 9:30 a.m. to watch 17 bands show off their dazzling costumes to a panel of judges.

Various aspects of Barbadian culture were depicted including attractions, traditions, foods and entertainers, including The Mighty Gabby.

His illustrious music career was a highlight in Blackbird Production’s A Living Legend and His Music. (TG)
