A SOLE, EAR-SPLITTING gunshot rang out in the wee hours of yesterday morning in Fairy Valley, injuring a young man and driving fear into the hearts of residents in the Christ Church community.

According to police reports, the 24-year-old received head injuries after being shot while he was outside his Fairy Valley home after midnight yesterday.

He was treated at the Queen’s Elizabeth Hospital and discharged the same day.

Despite the youth’s injuries not being life threatening, other residents in the community expressed shock that such an incident could even occur in what they considered to be a quiet neighbourhood. (AD)
