HAVING TRADED blows in the first two jewels of the Barbados Triple Crown, Guineas winner Fleurette and Midsummer Creole Classic victor Oberoi can today settle the score by winning the featured Grade I Massy United Insurance Barbados Derby.

It will not be all about them, however, as ten other creoles, including Trinidadian entrants Alruna and Nisky’s Boy, are all looking to spoil the party around 4:50 p.m. at the Garrison Savannah in the 2 000-metres event worth $113 050.

Fleurette, with the most wins (six) on her resumé, has class and speed at her disposal. Her awful display in the Midsummer Classic remains a shocker to racing enthusiasts.

With Antonio Perch replacing Rickey Walcott in the saddle, once she produces her best she can overpower this field by some margin. (LY)
