OLYMPIC BOXING coach Floyd Seymour is encouraging Barbadian parents to allow their children to box.
This plea has come in response to the perception by many that the sport is dangerous making its future appear quite dim on the island.
The Bahamian-born coach, who is based in America and currently coaches local professional boxer Cobia Breedy, said fear only denied people their chance for success.
“Fear stops people from becoming who they could be. I started boxing when I was six years old, I’m 46 now and I speak perfectly. I speak good English and I had blows to the head. I’m not going crazy,” he told NATIONSPORT. (RG)
