BARBADIAN SURFER CHÉ ALLAN finished fourth at the Vans US Open of Surfing in California over the weekend.

In the process, Allan became the first Barbadian to make the podium at the event which was contested at Huntington Beach.

Allan worked his way through the earlier rounds to the quarter-finals which featured an international mix including competitors from Brazil, Japan, New Zealand and United States.

With his consistent high quality manoeuvres in the tricky beach break, he moved through the quarters and semis to the finals. (PR/HG)
