Make Under-15 tourney longer
THE COACH OF the champion Barbados Under-15 team wants to see a longer version of the tournament at the regional junior level.
Richard Clarke made the suggestion after Barbados lifted the title in the 50-overs-a-side competition by completing their fourth win in five matches against Trinidad and Tobago at the North Stars Club ground in Crab Hill, St Lucy, last Friday.
“I would love to see the guys playing two-innings cricket. You have guys here who can concentrate for long periods of time. We’ve seen that from the Trinidadians. My guys can concentrate too,” he told NATIONSPORT.
“To have them playing knockout cricket and chancing their hands . . . I prefer to see more stability. It would definitely help with their development as all-round players and the ability to bat for long periods.” (HG)
