THE TRAVELLING PUBLIC is asked to note that a number of temporary road changes will be in place on Friday to facilitate the CARIFESTA XIII Parade which will assemble in Queen’s Park and make its way to Kensington Oval.
Between 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., the parade route will be closed to vehicular traffic. The parade will leave Queen’s Park, exit the Nelson Gate onto St Michael’s Row and continue along Trafalgar Street, Broad Street, Cowell Street, Lower St George Street, Cheapside and Fontabelle. The process will enter Kensington Oval via the south gate.
During that period, no person shall park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary along the parade route except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers.
The following road diversions will be enforced:
Motorists wishing to travel onto Constitution Road from Halls Road, Belmont and Martindales Road will be diverted at the Mencea Cox Roundabout.
Motorists wishing to travel onto Broad Street from Tudor Street will be diverted onto Mahogany Lane.
Motorists wishing to travel onto Broad Street from Mahogany Lane will be diverted towards Baxters Road.
Motorists wishing to enter Broad Street from MgGregor Street will not be allowed to enter MgGregor Street.
Motorists wishing to enter the Cheapside and Fontabelle from Lakes Folly and Redman Drive will not be allowed to turn left or right.
No person shall park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary along the emergency route or the alternate route except for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers.
The emergency route includes President Kennedy Drive, Fontabelle, Cheapside, Broad Street, Bridge Street, Fairchild Street, River Road, and Martindales Road.
The alternate route includes President Kennedy Drive, Westbury Road, Passage Road, Country Road Roebuck Street, Halls Road, and Martindales Road. (PR/NB)
