Man not free after all
ANDERSON BUSBY THOUGHT he had been freed of a murder charge three weeks ago.
But his joy was short-lived when a clarifying directive from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) revealed that the charge had actually been reduced to manslaughter and not discontinued, as the initial notice appeared to suggest.
Busby, 27, therefore remains behind bars and will have to face trial over the death on October 13, 2012, of 16-year-old Devon Taylor, formerly of Gills Road, St Michael.
After spending almost five years on remand, Busby thought he had gained his freedom following a letter from the DPP’s Office that stated the charges against him had been discontinued. (BARBADOS NATION)
