Plans to stop flooding in St Peter

RELIEF COULD BE on the way for residents of Gills Terrace and Around the Town, St Peter.

Friday marked the third time following 1984 and 2004 that residents of those areas were forced to reset their lives due to hazardous flooding brought on by a weather system.

But Minister of Housing and Lands Denis Kellman revealed Friday’s event may be the last as Government has plans to bring the flooding to an end by starting phase two of the Salt Pond drainage project.

On Friday evening, Kellman, along with Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite and members of the emergency services, toured the badly affected areas. (AD)
