TOP ROAD TENNIS PLAYERS will be pocketing close to a quarter-million dollars in winnings and the best male and female will be driving away brand new cars when the Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union Limited Monarchs Of The Courts climaxes on October 1.
Organised by the Professional Road Tennis Association (PRTA), the third edition has upped the ante on 2016 when Mark “Venom” Griffith crushed the inaugural champion Antonio “Lil Man” Daniel to drive off with a car.
This year the men’s champion will take the car and $3 000, with the runner-up winning $6 000 and the losing semi-finalists $2 000 each.
For the first time, the women will be battling for a car and $3 000, with the runner-up taking $4 000 and the losing semi-finalists $1 500 each. (KB)
