NATIONAL PLAYER Laurando Davis scored a hat trick to serve notice that A Badd Connection (ABC) should be a force in the men’s competition of the annual Barbados Hockey Festival at the Wildey AstroTurf, yesterday.

ABC rolled over a plucky Barbados Defence Force 3-0 in the final match of the day with the 28-year-old Davis at the heart of a solid performance.

It was a vital victory for ABC in the six-team competition as they were beaten 3-1 in their opening match on Monday by Look Fah Points.

Davis, the son of former Barbados players Lawrence Davis and Andrea Nichols, scored in the 19th, 34th and 37 minutes. The opening goal came via a penalty corner, Davis pouncing on a rebound from his initial shot, by dribbling around two markers before crunching his shot against the backboard. (MK)
