THE BARBADOS Cricket Association (BCA) played a late cut yesterday, terminating the services of 20 temporary members of the ground staff at Kensington Oval.
This move by the BCA could affect the overall preparations at the historic venue for next week’s four matches in the popular Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
As a result, the BCA, which is overseeing preparations of the match square, outfield and practice pitches on behalf of the Tridents Pride of Barbados franchise, will be operating with only the five members of their established ground staff.
With veteran curator Henderson Davis on medical leave, the ground staff operations are now being headed by Peter Douglas, with assistance from Arnold Smith and three other groundsmen. (EZS)
