Lashley: Time to review CARIFESTA
MINISTER OF CULTURE Stephen Lashley says it is time for a review of CARIFESTA, the biennial regional arts festival.
Lashley, who said the complaints about scheduling and other issues had been addressed, said Wednesday a review before the 2019 festival in Trinidad and Tobago might be timely.
He said the management of any mega festival would always be a challenge, and they now have to do the follow-ups to ensure the legacy of CARIFESTA XIII, which cost Barbados $6 million, is seen.
Having seen the efforts in Haiti and Suriname, Lashley said the CARIFESTA model had to constantly reviewed so the irritants could be reduced. (YB)
