Cops ‘doing their all’ to check crime

THE POLICE CHIEF has pledged to increase patrols in crime hotspots and implement other anti-gang operations as he seeks to reassure Barbadians that the force is confronting gun violence “head-on”.

Barbados recorded its 25th and 26th murders on Tuesday, elevating the pressure on law and order authorities to put together a creditable response.

Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith told the WEEKEND NATION that the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) was doing everything it could to bring the crime situation under control.

“We are doing all in our power right now,” he said. “I don’t know what more we can do. But we are thoroughly investigating all of these incidents and we will get to the bottom of them. (RB)
