Two Surinamese nationals will appear before Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch today charged with possessing and importing methamphetamine into Barbados.

Police says 26-year-old Astrando Guillermo Inge and 24-year-old Stefano Guillermo Inge arrived in the island by air from Suriname via Trinidad.

They were interviewed by Customs personnel and the police were informed. They were then interviewed by personnel from the Drug Squad and subsequently referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where they allegedly passed out a number of packages.

Police say Stefano passed out 99 packages of methamphetamine weighing three pounds while Astrando passed out 30 packages of weighing half a pound. (PR/NB)
