Female footballers need competition
MORE COMPETITION WILL improve women’s football in the Caribbean.
That is the view of president of the Turks and Caicos Football Association, Sonia Bien-Amie. She was speaking during the second international women’s friendly against Barbados on Sunday.
“With the Caribbean, what’s on top of my list is to provide more playing opportunity for our girls and our women. If we don’t get more competition and get more games against competitive teams no matter how much talent we have we are not going to get any better,” she said.
“This Barbados team have talent. They play structured football. Imagine how better they would get if they were exposed to university or college where they are playing regular games.” (RG)
