BARBADOS will be looking to three Ds to take them through their Davis Cup tie against Venezuela this weekend.

That was the word from team captain Damien Applewhaite after the draw was made yesterday at the Barbados Olympic Association headquarters yesterday.

Matthew Foster-Estwick will hit the courts at the National Tennis Centre first for Barbados at 10 a.m. today, when he faces Venezuela’s top player Ricardo Rodriguez before Barbados’ best Darian King meets Jordi Munoz.

“Our strategy is in three Ds – Darian, Doubles and Darian. We are heavily depending on Darian to come out with those two wins.

He is going to play his usual spot and we put Matthew in because it’s more about managing our human resources and also what we have seen in practice during the week,” Applewhaite told WEEKENDSPORT. (RG)
