The public is advised that all classes at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus have been cancelled for the remainder of the day.

In addition, all offices at the campus will close at midday.

This is due to the passage of Hurricane Maria which is causing persistent showers across the island.

While all public educational institutions and some private schools remained closed this morning, UWI initially said classes and business would continue as usual. (BGIS/NB)
