Mud, water no problem for winners

Much sideways action due to the presence of mud and water will be forever etched in the minds of the Mahogany Ridge/Corbin’s Catering Services Toyota Hilux pair of Ryan Corbin and Dustin Edwards, winners of the recently-held Barbados Rally Club (BRC) MudDogs September Safari of the Chefette MudDogs Championship.

Corbin and Edwards grabbed the top spot with a total of 451 penalties after finishing fifth in Route one with 362 penalties but stormed back to win Route two with 125.

“It was a good rally and well set, but we will always remember some deep mud and water in the Buckley, St George area, but we never became stuck during the challenging event,” the pair told NATIONSPORT after the presentation at the Country Stop Bar and Restaurant, Applewaites, St Thomas.

Corbin said the ground was saturated with water from the recent rain, but kudos must go to first-time route setters Dean Springer and Bridget Garity who set a fun-filled event and provided the momentum for the final event in two months’ time. (TT)
