St George South start with bang

St George South began their title defence in fine style by whipping St Michael East 5-0 in the opening game of this year’s David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic at the Usain Bolt Complex on Sunday night.

A superb hat-trick from key marksman Shakille Belle and a well taken brace from Dario Harewood proved more than enough for the champs.

In the night’s other encounter, Christ Church East and St John played out to a hard-fought 3-3 draw.

Lloyd Wilkinson and Donte McClean gave Christ Church East an early 2-0 lead with goals in the second and 14th minutes, respectively, before Jefferson White halved the deficit for St John in the 38th minute. (ML)
