Flood warning issued
A flood warning is in effect for Barbados until 4 p.m. today.
The Barbados Meteorological Services said the combination of an upper-level trough and an easterly wave had been generating some pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across the island.
Additional rainfall accumulations of up to 50 – 75 mm (2 – 3 inches) are likely.
Thus, residents in flood prone areas should exercise caution and remain on the alert.
A flood warning means that some flooding is already occurring or is imminent.
This warning will be updated as necessary.
