BWU got it wrong, says Franklyn

Unity Workers’ Union (UWU) general secretary Caswell Franklyn is not on board with the ongoing strike action taking place at the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

Franklyn was highly critical of the industrial action which was well into its third day on Friday.

“What is going on is a bunch of foolishness because what the Barbados Workers’ Union is doing is making unions look bad. The union must be responsible enough to tell the workers the truth,” he added.

He said the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) did not fully understand what it was asking CBC management for and explained that CBC workers were on a salary scale in which increments ceased when they reached the top. (AD)
