CBC strike continues
THE STRIKE ACTION the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) continued today and could possibly see the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) joining in tomorrow.
In a letter sent to the Minister of Labour Dr Esther Byer Suckoo yesterday, the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU) explained they would be including the BWA workers in action as the first point of escalation.
“This correspondence now serves to advise that the action is being escalated without giving further notice,” the letter said.
“We will be including the Barbados Water Authority as the first point in the escalation exercise since the same disrespect for the honouring of agreement in increments is being demonstrated by this particular organisation as well,” the letter continued.
Additionally, the BWU noted it would be calling out all committees of management on Monday, October 2 to entertain volunteers who felt equally aggrieved and wished to enter into solidarity support in this “national resistance exercise”. (AD)
