Barbados and out-of-favour West Indies left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican will be on a dual mission today.
He will be seeking to become the first bowler to reach 50 wickets while ensuring leaders ICBL Empire upstage Sagicor Life UWI in their sixth series top-of-the-table Elite Division cricket clash at The 3Ws Oval.
While other venues may be under pressure to get cricket if there are overnight showers following Thursday’s persistent rain, UWI, with their superior outfield drainage and first-class covers, usually get play once there is sunshine.
Trailing Empire by 11 points, UWI must either hunt a victory or severely restrict the bowling and batting points of their opponents should the match be drawn. (EZS)
