BCA to review Shield rules

The Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) will be reviewing the rules of its Shield competition.
That’s the promise from the local governing body following a meeting by the BCA to examine a query raised by Crane and Equipment Brereton regarding the method by which teams advance to the semi-finals of the 40-over-a-side competition.
After play in their quarter-final match against BRC slated for St Catherine Club on September 17 was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to adverse weather conditions, Brereton were eliminated from the competition due to an inferior net run-rate.
The BCA, in a media release on Friday said that Brereton felt that the use of a tie-breaker in an abandoned game may have led to an unfair result. (EZS)
