Pothole fix in the mix
The Minister is fixing it! Following months of complaints from the public about the deteriorating state of the roads, a private contractor has been hired to assist the Ministry of Transport and Works (MTW) in patching potholes.
Deputy Chief Technical Officer at the MTW, Philip Tudor, told the Sunday Sun that C.O. Williams would be “incorporated” into their roadworks programme.
“We have done our own investigation to identify some of the potholes and we have also taken some of the reports from pictures in the Fix It Mr Minister which was highlighted in the (NATION) newspaper, and we will be getting help from C.O.Williams Construction. They have been incorporated into assisting the Ministry to patch some of these potholes,” Tudor reported.
For several months, motorists in particular have been vociferously complaining about the many potholes on the roads, and people have taken to social media to post pictures of damage to their vehicles, such as burst tyres and broken rims, as a result of falling into the holes. (MB)
