It seems bodybuilding has adopted the mantra of next man up.

It’s business as usual for the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (BABFF), as acting president Jo-Ann Haynes says the association is functioning just fine without suspended head Manasseh King.

“It hasn’t been too difficult for us because we already had a good team assembled under Manasseh. So what we did was reassure faith in ourselves first, then we regrouped and Dr [Alfred] Sparman is a wonderful team leader,” explained Haynes, who was previously second vice president but is acting in Sparman’s absence.

“We would have been preparing for CAC during this situation, so we reassured them that the team is still strong and there is good leadership within the federation.

“To be honest, it wasn’t too difficult to carry on because we have a good leader in Dr Sparman,” she added. (JM)
