Riley: No conflict

NEW Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) president Conde Riley is captaining two teams, but doesn’t believe he has to declare one innings closed.

Riley, who replaced the long-standing Joel Garner as BCA president in July, is also chairman of the Cricket Franchise of Barbados Inc.

The BCA is the sole shareholder of the Barbados franchise, which is administered by a five-member board of directors. Riley, a retired banker, has served as chairman since the franchise was incorporated in 2014.

One of those directors is Calvin Hope, who is also the vice-president of the BCA while the others are BCA treasurer Jason King, former BCA board member and director of sport Erskine King and William Layne, a former permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance.  (EZS)
