KINGSTON – It was standing room only at an invitation-only gathering on November 23 to unveil the newly branded LUMIN Consulting, a development consulting firm and wholly-owned by The University of the West Indies (UWI), comprised of a dynamic and driven team headquartered in Kingston, Jamaica.
Formerly known as UWI Consulting, LUMIN Consulting is the result of an extensive process of restructuring and realignment of the role The UWI.
It intends to play in reinvigorating Caribbean development and ensuring that The UWI is at the centre of a new growth trajectory for the region. By drawing on global development standards and goals for the small economies of the Caribbean and the world, LUMIN has developed a new model driven by its vision to effect change, drive transformation and guarantee impact in the region and beyond.
This innovative enterprise embodies the essence of Caribbean ingenuity by carving a path of regional prominence that cements its international relevance – an ingenuity that is rooted in resourcefulness and a drive that has led many of our region’s sons and daughters of the soil to become international luminaries in select areas, including the likes of Bob Marley, Sir Derek Walcott, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Arthur Lewis and Usain Bolt to name a few.
LUMIN, fashioned after the well-established global impact of our Caribbean Laureates and Luminaries, is designed to offer the best minds the Caribbean has to offer to our own region and then to the world.
