31-year-old is latest road fatality

Police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding a Road fatality, which occurred around 4:45 a.m. today, along My Lords Hill, St Michael.

It resulted in the death of Amanda Danielle Byer, 31, of Coral land, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, and injury to Jeffrey Callender, 50, also of Coral land, Haggatt Hall, St Michael.

Preliminary investigations revealed that around 4:45 a.m. Byer was driving a car along My Lords Hill Road, accompanied by Callender. On approaching the area of the Israel Lovell Foundation, the car struck an embankment that resulted in Byer losing control and subsequently colliding with a guard wall to the front of the Israel Lovell Foundation.

Byer received head injuries and died at the scene, whilst Callender received an injury to his forehead, and was transported to the QEH by ambulance for medical attention.

One fire tender, and four Fire Officers under the command of Station Officer Denton Foster, and Acting Deputy Fire Officer Errol Gaskin responded to the scene of the accident.
