Payne: Stop it!
Retiring cricket coach Thelston Payne is closing his innings at the National Sports Council (NSC) with one parting stroke.
The former Barbados and West Indies batsman/wicketkeeper claims political interference is hampering the state-run NSC’s operations.
“I enjoyed every moment of my coaching career at the NSC for about 25 years but, to be honest with you, the last eight years, I haven’t been enjoying myself because I felt the tension in the National Sports Council,” Payne told WEEKENDSPORT in a wide-ranging interview.
“Too much politics is being played in the people’s workplaces, and it needs to stop. I want to say that before anything seriously happens to people, they need to take the politics out of the workplace,” charged Payne. (EZS)
