Lux hit hard
While some Barbadians started the New Year on a high, a premium event organiser is counting about $30 000 in losses due to suspected acts of sabotage of her all-inclusive event.
Sharon Niles, the owner of LUX Entertainment, suffered a hard blow on Sunday night when the expected numbers of patrons did not turn up to The Tamarind Masquerade Ball held at Sugarlands Gardens, St Peter.
She explained that hours before the fete started at 9 p.m. she was receiving calls and seeing posts on social media that her event had been cancelled.
“All the promotional girls and the deejays called saying they heard the event was cancelled,” said Niles.
“We had to start posting images of people at the event to assure other patrons that it was still on.” (SB)
