Chambers gets revenge on Leslie

Hannah Chambers has gone one up again.

Tennis’ next best thing took the latest chapter in the sport’s storybook rivalry, having beaten arch nemesis Gabrielle Leslie to advance to the women’s open final of the Good Times Snacks Tournament.

Playing at the Ocean View courts, Chambers got the better of her fellow talented teen 6-2, 7-5 to set up a title match with the seasoned Donna Gibbs, who dispatched Chloe Weekes 6-1, 6-2.

The victory avenged last November’s stunning defeat in the BiiG Tournament final, where Chambers threw away a 5-2 lead to lose in straight sets. In the men’s open, top seed Aaron Hayden outlasted collegiate player Simon Lewis 6-2, 6-7, 6-2 before No.3 also went the distance against Zidan Dottin in a 6-1, 6-7, 6-4 result. (JM)
