UPDATE: Robbery at Golden Sands Hotel

Reports reaching the NATION newsroom indicate that there was a robbery at Golden Sands Hotel a short time ago.

Sources told the NATION that at least two masked men entered the Ixora restaurant of the Maxwell, Christ Church establishment during its popular Saturday karaoke session and seized the cash register. Witnesses on the scene reported hearing shots fired.

Both the Windward Islands Volcanoes and the Barbados Pride cricket teams are staying at the hotel. Players and officials from the teams were reportedly present in the restaurant when the robbery took place.
