Man facing 12 firearm, ammunition charges

Members of the Police Anti-Gun & Gang Unit have arrested and charged a 33-year-old St Michael man with a number of firearm and drug related offences.

The offences were allegedly committed on January 6, 8 and 10, at Collymore Rock, Dayrells Road, and Brittons Hill, respectively.

He is Adesina Kijana Chrichlow, of Brydens Avenue, Brittons Hill, St Michael, and Apartment # 6, Roumaika Court, Dayrells Road, Christ Church.

For the offences which relate to January 6, at Collymore Rock, and Dayrells Road, Chrichlow was charged with possession of one firearm without a valid license, possession of two rounds of ammunition without a permit, unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to supply, and trafficking of cannabis.

For the offences pertaining to Monday, January 8, at Brittons Hill, St Michael, Chrichlow was charged with possession of six firearms without a valid license, and possession of 371 rounds of various types of ammunition without a permit.

For the offences related to Wednesday, January 10, also at Brittons Hill, St Michael, Chrichlow was charged with two counts of possession of two firearms without a valid license, possession of two rounds of .38 ammunition without a permit, possession of 29 rounds of .32 ammunition without a permit, possession of 17 rounds of .25 ammunition without a permit, possession of 333 rounds of 7.62 ammunition without a permit, possession of 199 rounds of .223 ammunition without a permit, possession of 143 rounds of .45 ammunition without a permit, and possession of 110 rounds of .357 ammunition without a permit.  

On Saturday, January 6, members of the Police Anti-Gun & Gang Unit were conducting an operation at Collymore Rock, St Michael, when Chrichlow was intercepted driving a van, and found in possession of a firearm and two rounds of ammunition.

Investigations were conducted, and search warrants executed at the two residences occupied by the Chrichlow. As a result, the drugs, firearms, and ammunition were discovered.

Chrichlow was subsequently charged for the offences and is expected to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court tomorrow. (PR)
