Gold House dethroned Green House to emerge champions at Hindsbury Primary School Inter-House Athletics Championships at Queen’s Park last Friday.

In a keenly contested meet, Gold prevailed with 394 points, followed by Blue on 379, Red, 356, and Green, 350.

While Blue’s Kenechi Jederon-Harris ran away with the victrix ludorum title, Gold also produced some outstanding athletes.

Competing in the Under-13 division, Jederon-Harris collected 53 points, courtesy of victories in the 100, 200, 400 and 600 metres and a fourth place in the Open 600.

Gold’s Chrischaunna Reeves had to settle for second place behind Jederon-Harris in most of those events on the way to tallying 27 points.

Among the Under-11s, Gold’s Renescha Gaskin earned 25 points that included a victory in the Open 600.

Gold also benefited from 36 points through Leah Moore in the Under-7 division. She won the standing broad jump and tennis ball throw and placed second in the 50 metres.

Another impressive athlete was Red House’s Alexis Mascoll, who set three zonal records at last year’s National Primary Schools’ Athletic Championships.

She gained 34 points in the Under-11 division with the help of victories in the 100 and 200, second place in the long jump and third in the cricket ball throw. (HG)
