Update: Police identify deceased constable

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Police Constable 1873 Shayne Welch.

The 31-year-old was killed around 5:45 a.m. today at a residence at Kingsland Drive, Christ Church.

Police public relations officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss said officers found the body after acting on a report they received.

“We are appealling to the general public who may have any information in relation to this matter to contact any police station or police emergency number 211 or Oistins Police Station at 418-2612.

“The Commissioner of Police and the administration of the Force express heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of Constable Welch,” Inniss said. (PR/NB)
