For the first time in its history, Laff-it-Off is heading to Speightstown.

This Saturday night at the Alexandra School, the Nook & Cranny Bar will open for business in the north of the country, bringing the cast which has been performing before sell-out audiences since opening in January.

Producer of Laff-It-Off Productions Ian Estwick said the decision to have a show titled Size ‘Roun in the St Peter school hall was a response to a request from patrons.

“This is our 33rd consecutive year of producing the show which started with the concept of community theatre. Over the years, several people have asked when we were coming to the north and this year seemed like the right time to do it. It is going to be a special show as Peta Alleyne, who has been with us for 30 years, will take her final bow as she says farewell from the Nook & Cranny Bar,” he said.

“Peta has played a major role the show as an actress, writer and director one year. She has brought lots of laughter over the years. There are people who really enjoy her impressions of political characters and look forward to them each year. They can come out one more time to see her final performance along with younger members of the cast Dario Walrond and Kyle Cozier who debuted this year, Angelo Lascelles who is in his second year and Janine White who has been with us for four years now.

“Patrons have been telling us that this year’s show is the ‘best show ever’ and some of them have been to see to it more than once, always returning with other relatives and friends to share the laughter. As it will be out first show in Speightstown, our final one this year, and Peta’s final one with us,” Estwick said. (PR)
