Two apartments destroyed by fire

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire of unknown origin, which occurred sometime after 7:30 this morning.

A wood and wall, four-apartment building at Cane Vale, Christ Church was extensively damaged in the blaze.

Two of the apartments, one occupied by Roger and Jennifer Marshall and the other by Mellissa Macfarlane, were completely destroyed.

Another apartment occupied by Olivia Broome and Sylvan Brathwaite sustained water damage. The fourth apartment was not damaged.

The occupants of one apartment were outside when smoke was seen coming from the building, and it quickly engulfed the apartment.

Two fire tenders and ten fire officers responded to the blaze.

The property is owned Carmelita Jarvis of #18 Upper Carters Gap, Christ Church.

Investigations into this matter are continuing. Anyone who can provide information to assist with these investigations is asked to contact the Oistins Police Station at telephone 418-2612.
