Reggae On The Beach in full swing

Thousands are at Pirates Cove for the annual and highly anticipated Barbados Reggae Festival kick-off event, Magnum Reggae On The Beach.

While showers threatened to dampen the mood, hundreds are on the beach dressed for the occasion as they await the scheduled performances.

The event which is one of the major slots on the Barbados Reggae Festival calendar, got off to a prompt start at 5 p.m. with performances from DJ DMZ, Hutchy & Sizz followed by artistes Kas Katee and Lady Essence. Porgie and Murda got a rise out of the crowd when they performed a number of their hits including Ben Up, Condense and Shakle Out.

DJ Puffy as well as Jamaican acts Shenseea and Aidonia were also scheduled to perform. (NS)
