Now that a general election date is finally known, Opposition Leader Mia Mottley is seeing light at the end of the tunnel for Barbadians.

“Today is a good day for the people of Barbados,” the Barbados Labour party leader said earlier today during a live video-statement carried on the party’s Facebook page.

Mottley said Barbadians are glad the date is now known.

“So many people have already expressed relief that the date has at last been called by the Prime Minister. At last there is light at the end of the tunnel,” she suggested.

The BLP boss also made it clear hear party is ready to rumble.

“The Barbados Labour Party is ready, and the country is ready. We have been ready as a party for the past 18 months. We are conscious that our country stands at a crossroads, and that Barbadians will have to make a very serious decision about our future on May 24.”

Mottley said party members are looking forward to continuing to engage with Barbadians across the length and breadth of the country, as they have been doing for almost two years. (BA)
