The media fraternity showed its respect by turning out in large numbers at the St Matthias Anglican Church in Christ Church to bid farewell to one of the island’s most popular broadcasters, Vic “Buddy Boy” Brewster.

Also attending today’s funeral service were a number of popular calypsonians and entertainers.

Popular promoter of the Teen Talent Show, Richard Stoute, paid tribute in song with a beautiful rendition of It’s Not Easy To Say Goodbye and in his sermon, rector of the church, Reverend Hugh Sandiford, described Brewster as “truly a colossus”.

Reverend Springer recalled that after completing Codrington College they were required to “sit at Brewster’s feet” and learn the craft of public speaking as they were prepared for parish ministry.

Brewster’s mortal remains were laid to rest at the Westbury Cemetery. (NC)
