ZR man gets bail

A ZR driver was granted $2 500 bail after appearing in the Bridgetown Traffic Court on Monday.

Haroon Rashid Raja, 29, of Whitepark Road, St Michael, was charged with the unlawful assault of Kerry-Ann Burnett, using the abusive language “You all police is do bear . . . to people. Go from round my van; don’t put your hands on me,” towards Sergeant Ewin Norville, and attempting to offer a bribe to Norville during his execution of his duty on Bay Street, St Michael.

He also faces charges of driving without due care and attention, dangerous driving, and driving without reasonable consideration for others – all on Saturday.

He returns to court on June 25. (RA)
